4 Services that Qualify for Senior Living Insurance

It can be daunting to figure out how to pay to live in a senior living community. Thankfully, the services you need will most likely be covered by senior living insurance. Depending on the type of insurance you have, it will either offset the cost or fully cover your level of care.

Watch the video below to learn more or continue reading to find out what could be possible for you.

How Do You Pay for a Rehabilitation Stay?

After a hospitalization, you may need to stay in a rehabilitation facility. A personalized rehab program with various physical, occupational, and speech therapies can be incredible for your recovery—but it can hurt your wallet pretty badly. With a qualifying hospitalization stay, Medicare will fully cover days 1 through 20 of a rehab stay. For days 21 through 100, Medicare will cover 80%. The rest can be covered by supplemental insurance, private insurance, and Medicare Advantage plans.

What Covers Long-Term Care Services?

Skilled nursing facilities offer long-term care for those who need personalized levels of care and help with activities of daily life. Medicaid and private pay insurance will usually cover this type of senior care.

What Insurance is for Assisted Living & Memory Care?

Assisted living supports senior lifestyles that need some extra help. On the other hand, memory care is a more specific type of service focused on the challenges and needs required to care for those with dementia or Alzheimer’s. A variety of insurances will cover assisted living and memory care, including private pay, Medicaid waiver, and long-term care insurance. If you have VA benefits, those may apply as well.
