Summer is the time of the year that everyone looks forward to because there’s so many possibilities for fun, no matter how old we are!
The Brentwood activities team provides a wealth of fun summer activities for senior citizens. Whether our residents are with us for our leading skilled nursing services or for our social and active assisted living community, we create fun for everyone we care for.
In this blog, we’ll talk about just a few of the indoor and outdoor summer activities we curate for our residents to get the most out of this beautiful season.
Outdoor Summer Activities for Adults, Seniors
One of the staples of summer is a nice trip to the park, and we make sure that our residents don’t miss out on quality park time. We coordinate many fun events for seniors that take full advantage of the natural beauty and community spaces found around the park. Find your center during yoga in the park, be inspired by nature when we do our group painting in the park or get your groove on during the community concerts held in the park.
We also take trips beyond the park too! We have annual cookouts at a private local lake that will make you feel like you’re relaxing on an island beach. Maybe an island getaway isn’t what you’re looking for. Our residents can choose to take trips to Little Italy, Amish Country, West Side Market, local wineries, and so many more destinations.
Are you a car lover? You may want to buckle up for our annual Brentwood car show! Are you more of a fan of carnival games? Residents can try their luck at our annual carnival. Do you love making new furry friends? Then you may want to mosey over to our petting zoo trips.
There are many more fun outdoor activities beyond what have been briefly mentioned here. If we listed them all we could fill a book. And we haven’t even gotten to our indoor activities yet.
Indoor Activities for Seniors
When the summer weather is a too hot to handle, all our residents can make themselves comfortable while they enjoy in the air-conditioned activities at Brentwood.
Residents enjoy getting involved in indoor painting or watching some of their favorite movies during our movie matinees. They also love going head-to-head in a competitive game of bingo!
If bingo isn’t your game, then have no fear, we have plenty of games to keep you on your toes from Uno, trivia, brain teasers and so many more!
We even bring some of our resident’s favorite outdoor activities inside for them to enjoy, such as yoga, balloon volleyball, and indoor or patio concerts. Even residents can put on concerts of their own during our sing along nights!
We want our residents to get the most fun they can out of their summer which is why we work so hard to make sure there are plenty opportunities and activities for everyone to enjoy.
