Regular movement is essential for maintaining strength, balance, and independence as we age. In an assisted living setting, physical activity isn’t just about exercise—it’s about fostering energy, confidence, and overall well-being.
Why Movement Is So Important
Physical activity supports mobility, reduces fall risk, and improves mood. It also helps residents stay engaged with their environment and daily routines. Even gentle movement can make a big difference in maintaining quality of life.
How Brentwood Keeps Residents Moving
At Brentwood Healthcare Center, we prioritize safe and accessible fitness options tailored to all ability levels. On average, we offer four structured exercise activities per week in our Assisted Living community, including:
- Chair Yoga for flexibility and balance
- BalloFlex for fun, seated cardio
- Instructional classes led by one of our in-house physical therapists
- Video-based sessions through our Never2Late system, offering guided movement tailored for seniors
These diverse programs ensure residents can find something they enjoy—whether it’s a group session or a quieter, instructional format.
More Than Exercise—It’s Engagement
Participating in regular movement helps our residents feel energized and confident. It’s also a great way to connect with peers, build routine, and maintain a sense of independence.
At Brentwood, staying active is part of how we help residents live well—every day.
