The well being of our residents and staff is our highest priority. We are focusing on prevention and education to keep our community safe and taking precautionary measures, based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as well as State and Local Health Departments.
Our leadership team has been in the senior care profession for over 30 years and has extensive experience in serving seniors. We are being proactive with the best guidance and resources available. As a result, we have revised and evolved our safety practices to put the following in place:
Required by the CDC
• No visitors are permitted in the community unless medically necessary
• All employees and other medical visitors are screened upon entering the community
• Residents are continually monitored for signs or symptoms of a virus
• Dining rooms have been closed and replaced with in-room meal deliveries
• Facility group activities are canceled to adhere to “social distancing” recommendations
Actions taken by Brentwood beyond CDC guidelines
• Deliveries/mail are received outside the building to limit foot traffic in the facility
• Airing and ventilating building with fresh air, which was helpful with 1918 Spanish flu
• Vitamin C & D have been provided to boost employees’ immune systems
• Anti-bacterial sanitizers distributed for employees’ at home use to prevent illness
• With a national shortage of N95 masks, Brentwood is one of the few facilities with a reserve of masks which would be used if a resident would test positive for the virus, providing a higher level of protection then surgical masks
• Participating in daily conference calls with Ohio Health Care Association that has communication link with CDC, Mike Pence and Washington
• Participating in weekly webinars with Cleveland Clinic for updates
